BOULDER, CO – Life is short, and should be measured by the time spent with friends and family. That's the philosophy behind a new Boulder-based adventure tourism company that aims to complete your bucket list while building unforgettable memories with friends.
"The reality is life goes by too quickly — kids grow up, friends drift apart, and family members get older. Creating time now for those moments and adventures enriches our life's journey," said Adventure With Friends founder Dean Barta, who began his outdoor adventures more than 20 years ago after his father's death.
"I missed my chance. I kept intending to create more time in my busy schedule to spend quality time with my Dad, but I was too late," explained Barta. "I learned the hard way that now is the time to spend with family and friends. It changed my life, and I believe that now is the time to do the things that are important to us because the future is uncertain. Now is the time to live and go on the adventures of our lives."
After 23 years in the summer resort, ski resort and adventure travel industries, Barta walked away from the traditional adventure tourism model to launch his new company. His vision was to create a company equally dedicated to building relationships as it was to delivering world-class memories. Adventure With Friends prides itself on delivering hassle-free domestic and international adventure trips ranging from biking the Rockies, kayaking the Adriatic Sea, climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, or snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef.
Barta takes trip planning to the next level: "We interview every traveler to ensure groups are matched by abilities and expectations. We know customers like to be active, like good food, and want a clean, comfortable place to rest their heads after an exciting day. What else? We take great care in pairing clients with specific adventures to maximize their adventure and expand their community of friends," said Barta.
"We believe families should be friends, too, and we focus on helping families get closer," added Barta. "Whatever the ages or the family composition – cross-generational, blended families, overdue reunions, or more – we'll work to make certain you and your family experience the best possible adventure. Our goal is to finish the trip with you as a new member of our family, and our team as a new member of your family."
Barta takes that commitment seriously and matches his tour guides specifically to the group dynamics of his travelers. Any domestic or international guides who work with Adventure With Friends must be highly experienced in leading tours and also have a passion for safe adventure that will build lifelong friends ready to travel together again.
