Voice Services

ITS Voice Services provides telephone and related services to the MSU-Northern campus.

ResNet

The MSU-Northern Residential Network (ResNet) is a campus network that provides cable TV, telephone services and delivers high speed dedicated Internet access for students living in the Residence Halls.
ResNet Acceptable Use Policy

Accounts

ITS provides computer account-related support for the MSU-Northern community.

Student Labs

ITS provides support to 270 computers 14 student labs in 6 buildings.

VPN

Virtual Private Network (VPN) service providing secure access to campus services from off campus.

Wireless

Wireless access is available in the SUB, Library and parts of Cowan Hall.

Tips
Things You Should Ask Yourself Before Calling the Help Desk:
 
• When did I first notice the problem?
• Did I make any changes to my computer (i.e. install new software or hardware) before this problem occurred?
• What exactly was I doing when the problem occurred?
• What was the exact error message?
• Does rebooting the computer solve the problem?
• Did I check for viruses?
Cell Phone Tip
Verizon Wireless customers should regularly (monthly) update their Preferred Roaming List (PRL) on their cell phones. You can do this by following these steps:
 
1. Dial *228 and then press SEND (call is airtime free and may take up to 2 minutes).
2. When prompted, press 2 for the option to update the PRL.
3. Once completed, a confirmation message will appear to inform you that your phone has been re-programmed with the new PRL.
4. Press End to terminate the call.
5. Power cycle your phone to complete the update.
