Copier Tips
  • Plan large copying jobs in advance to take advantage of lower cost production methods at the MRC.

  • Consult with MRC staff for assistance and to answer questions regarding copying needs.

  • The offset/photocopy combination will produce copies approximately equal to the original. It is important to remember a good original will produce good copies, and a poor original, poor copies. A sharp black copy will give the cleanest reproduction. Previously duplicated material need not be retyped if the existing quality is acceptable to you.

  • Prepare your original on white paper, position your copy where it is to appear on the finished product, allow 1/4 inch margins on all sides so no copy is lost.

  • Paper clip the pages together; don't use staples. Staples can tear the pages and the holes may show up on the copy.

  • Number your pages, even if just in pencil. We want to keep all of your pages together and be able to collate them quickly so you will have your job on time.

  • If your job is to be copied front and back (both sides of the paper), then indicate that on your work order. Also indicate front-only copies.

  • Be specific about filling out "date needed." "ASAP" is not specific enough to allow us to schedule work effectively. Keep in mind the standard 48-hour turn around or better for most copy center work.

  • Complete the delivery information on work orders. We'll deliver, call you when the job is ready, or you may pick up the completed project.
