Veterans Day Observance
Brenton Beard

As a national observance of Veterans Day, MSUN closed all offices and cancelled classes on Wednesday. The campus celebrated our nation's heroes with an observance ceremony Tuesday morning. The Rocky Boy Veterans presented the colors for the ceremony. Provost William Rugg addressed the audience in Chancellor Kegel's absence, speaking about the history of Veterans Day and the impact so many men and women have had on our everyday lives by offering their lives. He acknowledged the veterans in the audience, and everyone present observed a moment of commemorative silence.

Ann Denny, a veteran and college graduate through the Veterans Upward Bound Program, spoke briefly at the ceremony, expressing her thanks to her fellow veterans and others who have helped her through her life's endeavors after serving her country. From there, the group relocated to the Veterans' Center in Hagener Science Center for fellowship and refreshments.
