Work-study employment opportunities are available through the need-based Federal Work-Study (FWS) Program. Limited funds are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, in accordance with Northern policy. Awards are for a maximum award of $2,500 for the 2009-2010 School year. For most jobs, the hourly pay rate is minimum wage (currently $7.25 per hour). Work-study funds are calculated as part of your financial aid package but are not paid until the hours are worked. Northern pays work-study students monthly.

How to Apply

Funding is limited and awarded on need as well as a first-come, first-served basis. Your FAFSA should be submitted by Northern’s priority deadline of April 15th of each year to be considered for a work study award.

If you have received a work study award you will need to contact Jennifer Henderson in the Career Center for available job opportunities.
