Name: AAUW Sussex-Rhodes Endowed Scholarship
Criteria: Awarded to a senior showing scholastic ability and campus involvement. Demonstrating
leadership ability and pursuing a Bachelor's degree.
Name: Byron & Lisa Ophus Endowed Scholarship
Criteria: Awarded to a student who is a graduate of Winifred High School, Scobey High School,
or Big Sandy High School with a minimum GPA of 2.5.
Name: Carra Johnson Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Criteria: Recipient must be a female, seeking education in nontraditional or traditional occupations,
and must need financial help.
Name: Clara Katzowitz Endowed Scholarship
Criteria: Awarded to a student at MSU-Northern with financial need.
Name: Cobb Foundation Scholarship
Criteria: Recipient must be an undergraduate and a resident of Montana.
Name: Crowley Endowed Scholarship
Criteria: Awarded to a student at MSU-Northern with unmet need.
Name: Cynthia Bryson Endowed Scholarship
Criteria: Recipient should be a single parent, either male or female, who is an active Student
at Northern. Preference is given to need based applicants.
Name: Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation Scholarship
Criteria: Awarded to a full-time student enrolled in a 4-year program with a minimum GPA of
2.5; Sophomore, Junior, or Senior status; resident of Montana; selection to be based
upon need.
Name: Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Scholarship
Criteria: Recipient shall be a veteran or the direct descendant (child, grandchild, great-grandchild)
of a veteran and must display financial need.
Name: Dr. GH and Ruth Vande Bogart Endowed Scholarship
Criteria: Awarded to a student with a GPA of at least 2.5 demonstrating financial need.
Name: Elizabeth Jestrab-Chaffee Memorial Scholarship
Criteria: Awarded based upon a combination of factors including academic excellence, financial
need, and long-term goals of student.
Name: Flansburg Family Scholarship
Criteria: Recipient must be a continuing student who is associated with the Little River Institute.
Name: Gustafson Reynolds Memorial Scholarship
Criteria: Awarded to a student at MSU-Northern.
Name: Havre Rotary Club Scholarship
Criteria: Awarded to a full-time student who graduated from Havre High School.
Name: Haynes Foundation Scholarship
Criteria: Recipients shall be formally admitted to the university, shall demonstrate financial
need, shall have a minimum GPA of 3.4, shall be a graduate of a Montana high school
and a resident of Montana. An exception to the MT residency and graduate of a MT high
school may be made for a member of the military and immediate family. Student athletes
participating in an NAIA sanctioned sport and those pursing a music degree are not
eligible for the scholarship. The award may be renewable if the recipient meets all
of the scholarship requirements and continues to be the best candidate.
Name: Heisey Foundation Scholarship
Criteria: Awarded to a sophomore, junior, or senior; recipients must have attended specific
Montana High Schools which participate in the Heisey Scholarship program. The following
areas are designated Heisey schools: Augusta, Belt, Brady, Browning (Jr. High also),
Cascade, Centerville (Sand Coulee), Choteau, Conrad, Cut Bank, Dutton, East Jr. High
(Great Falls), Fairfield, Fort Benton (Jr. High also), Geraldine, CM Russell, Great
Falls High, Holy Family (Great Falls), Highwood, Lincoln, MT Deaf/Blind, North Jr.
High (Great Falls), No. Tool County, Our Lady of Lords (Great Falls), Paris Gibson
Jr. High, Power, Shelby, Simms, Sunburst, Valier, West Jr. High (Great Falls).
Name: Irene Ruyle Baker Endowed Scholarship
Criteria: Awarded to a student who has completed at least one full semester with a GPA of at
least 2.5 and demonstrating financial need.
Name: John Kuhr Endowed Scholarship
Criteria: Awarded to a degree seeking, full time student with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Name: June and Richard Lemke Scholarship
Criteria: Recipient must be a full-time student. Must have maintained at least an overall GPA
of 2.5 in the year of school of academic work immediately preceding the award and
must be of good moral character.
Name: Kathleen McGlynn Laumeyer Memorial Scholarship
Criteria: Recipient must be a Montana resident and a non-traditional continuing student.
Name: KNMC Scholarship
Criteria: Awarded to a student that is participating in studio management with a 2.0 GPA or
better.
Name: Lanny Wilke Memorial Scholarship
Criteria: Awarded an MSU-Northern student seeking any degree. Recipient should be someone who
has performed or is performing community service. The recipient must also have a 2.5
GPA or above and have financial need.
Name: Larry J. Williams Scholarship
Criteria: Recipient must be willing to devote a minimum of two hours per week during the semester
to do supervised and approved work on the "Goose".
Name: Lucille Ziebarth Endowed Scholarship
Criteria: Awarded to a student to be used for tuition.
Name: Michael P. Callahan Scholarship
Criteria: Awarded to a full-time freshman or continuing student with a minimum GPA of 2.00,
in any discipline, who participated in Varsity High School Athletics.
Name: Morgan 'Good Citizen' Award
Criteria: Awarded to a student demonstrating "Good Citizenship" exemplified by service to the
college. Given every 4 years, next award Fall 2024.
Name: Mrs. Florence Vande Bogart Endowed Scholarship
Criteria: Awarded to a full time Northern Student with a GPA of 2.5 and has financial need.
Name: New Media Broadcasters/Communications Scholarship
Criteria: Awarded to student pursuing a career in Broadcasting/Communications. Someone who
works at the KNMC radio station who contributes to the station (ex. Website development,
building music library, promoting KNMC).
Name: Norm Gorder Memorial Scholarship
Criteria: Recipient shall be a graduate of Havre High School, either a junior or senior at
Northern and studying Business, Nursing, or Education with a GPA of 3.25.
Name: Otto M. Rigg Endowed Scholarship
Criteria: Recipient should be a Hi-Line High School graduate (Kremlin to Chester); with a minimum
2.5 GPA and carry 12 or more credits.
Name: Palmer & Opal Havskjold Memorial Scholarship
Criteria: Awarded to second year female student who has graduated from a public high school
in the counties of Blaine, Cascade, Chouteau, Hill, Liberty, Pondera, Teton, or Toole.
Qualifying students who have farming or ranching backgrounds, and that the selection
of such students shall be based upon established academic excellence and financial
need.
Name: Pam Hillery Memorial Scholarship
Criteria: Recipient should be a single parent who displays financial need. Preference will
be given to a student who has completed their freshman year.
Name: Stanley and Allie Russell Endowed Scholarship
Criteria: Awarded to students who meet the following criteria: students who are of financial
need and originally from Daniels County, Valley County, Montana, or graduates from
Saco High School.
Name: Sweetgrass Society Scholarship
Criteria: Recipient shall be a student at MSU-Northern with a GPA of 2.00 and enrolled in any
degree. Selection will be based upon financial need.
Name: Taplin Grazier Memorial Scholarship
Criteria: Recipient must show financial need. Preference is given to students from the Hi-Line,
specifically who graduated from high schools from Browning to Culbertson and are members
of the AAUW organization.
Name: Wells Fargo Bank Havre Scholarship
Criteria: Recipient must maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher.
Name: Wilbur M. Watters Family Scholarship
Criteria: Recipient must be in good academic standing, preference given to a Nashua High School
Graduate.
Name: Wilcox Endowed Scholarship
Criteria: Recipient must be a student at MSU-N in the College of Technical Sciences, College
of Arts, Sciences and Education, or College of Health Sciences. There is one scholarship
available for each of these colleges listed.
Name: William and Violet Daehling Endowed Scholarship
Criteria: Awarded to a student with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and who is enrolled in any 4-year
program. Selection is based on financial need.
Name: William L. Green Endowed Scholarship
Criteria: Recipient must have at least a GPA of 2.5 enrolled in any curriculum.
