Dr. Frank Zuccala

Dr. Frank Zuccala, Faculty member of the MSU-Northern Nursing Program, has recently completed his Master of Psychopharmacology Certification through the Neuroscience Education Institute (NEI). This certification, which required eight weeks of rigorous study and over 35 hours of continuing education, represents a significant advancement for our nursing program and is a testament to Dr. Zuccala’s dedication to academic excellence.

This achievement equips Dr. Zuccala with the latest insights in psychopharmacology—knowledge he is already working to incorporate into our curriculum to benefit faculty and students. With his expanded expertise, Dr. Zuccala is enhancing our program’s approach to teaching pharmacology and psychiatric nursing, providing students with a more comprehensive understanding of how medications impact mental health, from neurobiological mechanisms to clinical practice.

These updates will translate into richer learning experiences, including new case studies, modernized treatment frameworks, and practical applications of psychopharmacological principles. Dr. Zuccala’s commitment to integrating this knowledge will ensure that Northern students are well-prepared for the dynamic challenges of today’s healthcare landscape.

MSU-Northern is grateful for Dr. Zuccala’s dedication to pushing the Nursing program forward. His efforts reflect Northern’s ongoing commitment to delivering top-tier education that empowers students to make a real difference in the communities they serve.

Congratulations Dr. Zuccala, you make Northern Proud!
